Kanata Con Code of Conduct
Kanata Board Gamers is committed to fostering a fun, inclusive, and safe environment for all attendees at all of our events. We believe that all attendees at our events should be protected from discrimination for any reason, including age, body size, disability, gender expression, gender identity, nationality, physical appearance, race, religious beliefs or background, sexual orientation, or other differences.
This code of conduct outlines our expectations for attendees’ behaviour and consequences for unacceptable behaviour. By attending Kanata Con or other Kanata Board Gamers events you agree to abide by the Code of Conduct.
Any form of harassment, whether that’s based on gender identity/expression, race, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, or religion, will not be tolerated at Kanata Con or any Kanata Board Gamers events. If you are caught or reported to have harassed anyone at Kanata Con or any Kanata Board Gamers events, you will face remediation steps.

Unacceptable Behaviour
Unacceptable behaviours include, but are not limited to:
- Vulgar, intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning conduct (whether verbal, physical, written, or electronic)
- Stalking or following (whether physical or virtual)
- Sustained or repeated disruption of the event or interruption of other gamers
- Inappropriate or unwelcome sexual attention and behaviour, including unwanted sexual language or gestures, sharing of unsolicited sexual imagery or sexting, and use of nudity or sexual images in public spaces as well as teasing, jokes, and innuendo.
- Touching or grabbing of a sexual nature.
- Repeatedly standing too close to or brushing up against a person.
- Giving gifts of a sexual/unwanted nature
- Illegal activities or acts
- Acts of violence
- Inciting any of the behaviour above
- Any other behaviour that the Kanata Board Gamers organising committee deems inappropriate
Reporting Unacceptable Behaviour
We encourage victims or witnesses to unacceptable behaviour to contact a member of the Kanata Board Gamers organising committee. The front desk will always be able to identify a committee member. If desired the committee member will find a private space for the victim or witness to make their statement.
Consequences for Unacceptable Behaviour
We reserve the right to eject, without refund, from our contracted meeting spaces anyone who has engaged in unacceptable behaviour at a Kanata Con or any other Kanata Board Gamer event.
Furthermore, we reserve the right to deny entry to Kanata Con or any other Kanata Board Gamer event anyone who has been deemed to have engaged in unacceptable behaviour at previous Kanata Cons or other Kanata Board Gamer events.
