Meetup Recap Series (#5): August 20, 2015

Whoops, forgot to write a blog post for last week, and have forgotten most of what happened. Seems like our attendance has picked up over the past few weeks with a number of new people joining our ranks, and we have no idea what has caused this sudden influx. This week was no different, continuing the trend of a solid turnouts. 

Dan:

I continued my streak of 4-hour games this week with a 5p game of Caverna with Dave, Michael, Danny, and Frank. Dave had played once or twice, and I believe Frank may have as well (?), but everyone was at least familiar with Agricola, so certain parts of the rules explanation were streamlined, which is always nice. 

Interestingly, no one went for a full dwarven familia, rather we all ended with only 3 dwarves. Most had a weapon or two on their dwarves, but I got my dwarves equipped fairly early, so all of them were almost maxed by the end game. I think that gave me a strong advantage and helped me to run away with the game. 

Danny finished in a convincing second, and the remaining three people had a tight race for third.
